Unnale Unnale is yet another depressingly bad movie coming out of the Augean stables of Kollywood (Tamil film industry).
Featuring a bunch of acting misfits including Vinay, Sada and Tanisha Mukerji, Unnale Unnale is a poor excuse for entertainment.
One of the most horrible performers in the Indian movie industry, Sada is as bad in Unnale Unnale as she was in Anniyan. As for that young lad Vinay, after watching him in Unnale Unnale it's safe to conclude that what he does on screen is the antithesis of acting.
Of this bunch, ironically it's Kajol's sister Tanisha Mukerji who has delivered the better performance. We found her lacking in appeal in the 2006 Hindi film Neal 'N' Nikki but she does a much better job in Unnale Unnale.
Filmed mostly in Australia, Unnale Unnale is a love story (what else) that goes sour.
Karthik (Vinay) and Jhansi (Sada) fall in love but separate because of Jhansi's suspicions of Karthik's innocuous behavior with other girls. Time passes.
Dispatched to Melbourne on an office project, Karthik meets a vivacious and spunky girl Deepika (Tanisha Mukerji) on the plane.
No sooner does he land in Melbourne, he also sees Jhansi, who now happens to be Deepika's colleague.
For both Kartik and Jhansi, seeing each other triggers a host of emotions that they both had held in check. But the way Unnale Unnale director Jeeva handles this meeting of the old lovers leaves a lot to be desired.
Harris Jayaraj does no credit to himself with his wholly dissatisfying insipid music. We found all the songs lacking in any charm.
One of the proxies' of a movie's appeal is the audience behavior during the movie.
During the showing of Unnale Unnale, the audience at the Cine Plaza Theater in North Bergen (New Jersey) quickly became restless and engaged in continuous chit-chat and cell phone conversations. And you know what - no one minded because few people were paying full attention to this awful movie.- Copyright SearchIndia.com.
