Although Desi refers to any person from the South Asian subcontinent, in practice it's a term mostly used to refer to Indians in the U.S.Desis can come in many varieties - immigrants from India, immigrants from Africa of Indian origin, or children of Indian immigrants and the so called ABCDs (American Born Confused Desis). |
