Mercifully, Karam is not your typical Bollywood love story although love is the backdrop of this horrifically violent film.
After accidentally killing a young girl and then seeing her slowly die, contract killer John (John Abraham) becomes remorseful and wants to get out and start a new life with his crooner wife Shalini (Priyanka Chopra).
But life's not so simple in the world of crime. Once you are in, it ain't so easy to get out.
The bad guys kidnap Shalini to force John to complete one big job - to kill five adversaries of crime boss Captain (Bharat Dhabolkar). To make sure he takes the job seriously, they chop off one of Shalini's fingers and send it to him in an attractive
gift-wrapped box.
Although different from the run of the mill Bollywood manure, Karam's main weakness is that it's not fast-paced and tends to
drag on at times. The songs are not memorable but not bad either - Tinka Tinka and Tera Hi Karam stand out.
John Abraham is effective as the contract killer as is Bharat Dabholkar playing the crime boss Captain. Priyanka Chopra
doesn't have much of a role as this is an out and out John Abraham film. - Copyright SearchIndia.com.
