Heaven save us from movies like Kal Ho Naa Ho.
The vacuous story centers around a young and harried girl Naina (Preity Zinta) living in New York (Queens?). Like millions in the New York region, Naina juggles multiple roles even as she pursues an evening MBA. Rohit (Saif Ali Khan) is her close friend and MBA classmate. Into this New York picture arrives Aman (Shah Rukh Khan) in a last ditch effort to fix his ailing heart. With his cheerful disposition, Aman quickly ingratiates himself with all and sundry in the neighborhood.
For Aman, it's love at first sight. Although initially irritated by Aman, Naina quickly falls for him. Soon, her philandering friend Rohit flips for her too. Realizing that he has very little time left on Planet Earth, Aman does only what Hindi film heroes do - which is to get Rohit and Naina together.
There are so many scenic spots in the Greater New York metropolitan region but the director seems enamored only of the Brooklyn Bridge and the park below.
The pleasing songs are the only redeemable feature of this vacuous movie. - Copyright SearchIndia.com.
