Despite the fine performances of Shahrukh Khan and Rani Mukherji, Chalte Chalte is an average movie since the story and songs are poorly crafted.
Small businessman and truck owner Raj (Shahrukh Khan) and fashion designer Priya (Rani Mukherji) meet by chance when Raj's truck and Priya's car have a close shave on the highway.
For Raj, it's love at sight but for Priya things are not so simple. She is to return home to Greece soon and get engaged to childhood friend Sameer (Jas Arora). Not one to be deterred easily, Raj goes along to Greece with Priya in hopes of changing her mind.
What do you think happens? At the engagement ceremony in Athens, rich girl Priya jilts Sameer and declares her love for middle-class Raj. Priya and Raj get married and are back in India soon.
All hell soon breaks lose between the newly-weds in less than a year. Priya is an organized and disciplined person in contrast to Raj whose good intentions are often not in sync with his actions. Financial troubles makes a bad situation worse between the two.
There are no catchy songs whose tunes linger on.
All in all a forgettable movie. - Copyright SearchIndia.com.
