A U.S. District Judge fixed Mallu criminal Mathew Martoma’s sentencing for June 10, 2014 at 10AM.

Last week, a New York city jury found 39-year-old Martoma guilty of insider trading.

The jury convicted Martoma on two counts of securities fraud and one count of conspiracy.

Mathew Martoma is appealing the verdict.

Length of Prison Term

The length of Martoma’s sentence, and possibly where the crook will be imprisoned, will be determined on June 10.

Martoma is expected to get a prison sentence of a least 10 years although he faces a theoretical maximum term of 45 years.

Judge Paul G. Gardephe of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District Court of New York passed the order on Martoma’s sentencing February 7, 2014.

Any submissions by Martoma on his sentencing is due by May 13 and the government’s response by May 27, 2014.

Judge Gardephe also ordered the Probation Department to prepare a pre-sentencing investigation report on Martoma.

The pre-sentencing report will recommend the sentence to the judge after interviewing Martoma.

If Martoma feels the sentencing report and the prosecutor are recommending a harsh sentence, he can request a mitigation hearing.
