As part of Apple’s 12-Days of Gifts promotion (December 26-January 6), Martin Scorsese’s remarkable film Hugo is available for free download today.
Of course, I quickly headed to iTunes and downloaded the movie a couple of hours back. Need you even ask. 😉
Hugo is a fine movie and I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I did.
Hugo was warmly received by critics (94% on RT) and won five Academy Awards including for Best Cinematography.
The free download of Hugo is valid in the U.S. and you must have an iTunes account (other geographies may have different freebies).
Loved the movie and it’s altogether a different movie from Scorsese, who is famous for psychological and gangster movies such as Taxi Driver, Goodfellas and many more.

One of these days, I’ll see his new movie The Wolf of Wall Street.
Watched a couple of movies over the winter break.. The one that really caught my attention was the danish movie The Hunt.
Forget bollywood, even hollywood can’t make a movie on this subject in a hundred years!
The Hunt is my pick for the best foreign movie at the Oscars. If you thought Chloe Moretz was awesome in kickass, the child actor Annika Wedderkopp in The Hunt was exceptional! So was the bond villain Mads Mikkelsen.. Don’t miss this gem.
Also, I tried to watch the Italian movie The Great Beauty. The movie has got good reviews but I couldn’t sustain it for more than 30 minutes. Switched it off midway.
BTW, when is your review on Baran out? I watched it long time back. Baran – Sweet innocent Romance.
Good movie but I liked children of heaven better.
SearchIndia.com Responds:
1. Speaking of Mads Mikkelsen, are you aware that he’s acted in an Oscar nominated film with an India connection – After the Wedding.
2. Baran review today.
Hunt – In a few days!
So, Baran review is postponed? Any idea for Se7en review?
I had gone to watch Wolf of Wall Street, but had to walk out in the middle on personal front. But as per what I could watch, the movie was alright. Did not know it was sort of a biopic.

I’ll try to finish Baran tonight.
Junot Diaz hijacked me on the way to the Baran review with his riveting Spanglish classic The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao.
Se7en later.
