We love it. 😛
We love this almost black-colored Irish beer (our bottle was actually brewed in Canada).
If there is any other beer as dark as Guinness Extra Stout* we’ve yet to encounter it.
For over 15 years, we’ve been drinking Guinness on and off and relished it every single time.
Lovely, distinctive, refined taste.
Bitter, of course, but not obscenely bitter. Not a strong odor either.
Just a faint, faint hint of burnt flavor. Or maybe we’re imagining it.
Apparently, it’s made from roasted barley, hops, water and treated with isinglass finings (made from fishes’ air bladders). Supposedly, it’s the roasted barley that gives the beer its blackish color and unique taste.
Boy, we could drink a whole keg and still have an appetite for this stuff.
The local Gujju wine store charged us $3 for a 1-pint 6-fl bottle.
Our bottle has a 5% alcohol by volume (source: Wiki).

Drinking too much nowadays??!! Hmmm.

Let’s just say we’re keeping the local economy chugging along and helping the Gujju liquor store owners eke out a livelihood. 😉
