Sri Lanka plays Pakistan aka Terroristan at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Saturday.
For our U.S. readers, the match starts at 4AM EST.
This will be the 10th match in the ICC 2011 World Cup.
So far, Sri Lanka and Terroristan have crossed paths six times in previous World Cup matches and each time Sri Lanka has come a cropper.
Inshallah, Sri Lanka, the glorious nation that crushed the LTTE terrorists, will inflict a severe punishment on Terroristan on the cricket field tomorrow and erase the depressing humiliations of yesteryears.
Here’s what the South Indian Brahmin newspaper The Hindu has to say on tomorrow’s match:
On paper, Sri Lanka looks more balanced and has proved that it can deliver, last year it won all but six of the 26 ODIs it played. Pakistan goes into the match with a record that does no justice to the talent in the team — the recent New Zealand series win was preceded by losses in nine series.
Needless to say, SI plans to watch and live blog the Sri Lanka vs Terroristan match.
We wish the Sri Lanka Captain Kumar Sangakkara and his teammates all the very best as they tackle Terroristan tomorrow.
The two teams:
Sri Lanka: Kumar Sangakkara (Captain), Mahela Jayawardene, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Dilhara Fernando, Rangana Herath, Chamara Kapugedera, Nuwan Kulasekara, Lasith Malinga, Angelo Mathews, Ajantha Mendis, Muttiah Muralitharan, Thisara Perera, Thilan Samaraweera, Chamara Silva and Upul Tharanga
Terroristan: Shahid Afridi (Captain), Mohamed Hafeez, Ahmed Shehzad, Kamran Akmal, Umar Akmal, Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq, Abdul Razzaq, Abdur Rehman, Umar Gul, Shoaib Akhtar, Saeed Ajmal, Junaid Khan, Wahab Riaz and Asad Shafiq.
