Seldom do we deign to watch a movie for the second time.
Our time on the planet is finite and there’s so much virgin terrain to explore.
Right?
So why waste time on where we’ve traveled before.
But some movies are different.
There’s a Karmic connection between the movie and us.
They beseech us to see them again and again.
Like Inglourious Basterds, for instance.
We watched this fine film a few months back in a theater.
Yet, this morning we headed out to RedBox and ‘rented’ the DVD.
Here we are lounging in bed seeing Quentin Tarantino’s lovely film.
Unless you are a complete ignoramus, you know that Inglourious Basterds has been nominated in multiple categories for tonight’s Oscars.
Col. Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz) has just arrived at Pierre LaPadite’s farm in Nazi-occupied France.
You know what’s coming next!
Update 1
Col Landa and Shosanna (Mélanie Laurent) meet again.
What a movie!
Folks, the next update will come after the Oscars ceremony tonight.
Update 2
As we all know by now, Col. Hans Landa a.k.a. Christoph Waltz has won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar at the 82nd Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday.
And deservedly so.
Folks, if Christoph Waltz was the glorious entree in Inglourious Basterds then French actress Mélanie Laurent who plays the Jewish girl Shosanna was the charming hors d’oeuvre.
Whether in her scenes with the Nazi admirer and sniper Frederick Zoller (Daniel Brühl) or with Col. Landa in the cafe, Mélanie Laurent was a joy to behold.
You can be sure we’ll be watching more of Mélanie’s movies soon. That is, if our favorite movie source Netflix has them.
By the way, we’re not sure if we told you earlier but Mélanie is very pretty too. 😉
Just in case you are not aware, director Quentin Tarantino also wrote the story for this film.
Folks, Inglourious Basterds is a must-watch film.
