Salman Khan Finished; Wanted, Another BO Disaster

Salman Khan Sinking, Sinking, Sinking

Salman Khan – the name that spells box office disaster in Bollywood.

Salman Khan – the name that means bad luck in Bollywood.

Salman Khan – the name that turns away audiences in Bollywood.

Salman Khan – the name that heralds crappy movies in Bollywood.

Salman Khan – the name that comes last among the Khans in Bollywood.

Folks, for the umpteenth time in recent years, a Salman Khan movie has fared miserably at the U.S. box office.

No surprise, eh. After all, it’s a Salman Khan movie.

In what must be a shameful moment to this aging, balding, fading star, U.S. movie-goers have decisively shown the middle finger to Salman Khan’s trashy movie Wanted, a remake of the Tamil/Telugu movie Pokiri.

A hideous nightmare with little to recommend it, Wanted is the third Salman Khan movie to bite the box office dust in recent years.

Yuvvraaj was a disaster, God Tussi Great Ho was a disaster and now Wanted is also unwanted by moviegoers.

How low can Salman Khan’s movies go?

In its opening weekend at the U.S. box office, Wanted grossed a measly $217,432, worse than Salman’s previous disaster Yuvvraaj, a shitty copy of Rainman.

Wanted opened at #33 for the September 18-20, 2009 weekend at the U.S. box office with an average gross of $3,062.

By the way, the Rani Mukerji-Shahid Kapoor film Dil Bole Hadippa did far better (please see below table) than Wanted.

Here’s how Wanted fared at the U.S. box office in the opening weekend compared to some prominent Bollywood films:

Sorry, since we’re human we just can’t enjoy this pathetic piece of shit.

    2. You write: comn itz a nice movie not meant for NRI’s

Oh, really. Then why release it in theatres in the U.S. and waste our money?

    3. You write: whatz wrong with u

It’s an undeniable fact that Salman Khan is the kiss of death for a Bollywood movie lately.

Look at the miserable fate of his recent movies – Wanted, God Tussi Great Ho, Yuvvraaj and Heroes.

    What a shame.

  4. polpo   September 22, 2009 at 5:46 am

Also please compare no of theatres film is running..loved the film wanted tatz y..please dont publish such one sided article…its been only 3 days since it released so wait 4 some more time b4 u publish such irrelevant articles.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    Are you completely blind?

The above table includes the theatre count for all movies.

Wanted is DOA (dead on arrival) in America.

Of course, what else do you expect with garbage.

  5. boopalanj   September 22, 2009 at 3:44 pm

First four sentences don’t fit to Abishek Bachan too?

Alas, but Abishek Bachan – is a name that comes first among ‘Chans’ – Amit / Jaya / Ish Ba’chans’..!!

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Yes, the first sentences fit the heir to the ‘Chan’ dynasty – Abhishek Bachchan to the T.

    2. You write: you must be a srk fan

And from which gutter did you arise.

Here, read our reviews of SRK films: Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Billu, Om Shanti Om and Chak De India.

Now, tell us if you still think we’re biased. Schmuck.

Wanted is a box office disaster in the U.S. The above chart makes that clear.

You have been exterminated, as in got rid of a pest (i.e. your registration with this blog has been deleted).

    Happy? 🙂

Now, get back to your rat-hole.

Wonder why Salman Khan’s movies do so badly in the U.S. compared to his peers like Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, John Abraham et al.

Bet a hot-headed nincompoop like you has no answer to that.

Come back with a grovelling apology and cut the trash talk.

There should be a law to shoot rabid dogs like you.. I will be ready with my gun

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    Join the line.

There are dozens of scumbags ahead of you wanting to do the same to us.

Scumbags seem to have great difficulty in dealing with reality.

Look at the above table. It speaks volumes about Salman Khan’s pathetic box office record of late.

    Your anger is misdirected.

You ought to be upset with Salman Khan for churning out such crappy movies, leading to poor performance at the box office. Instead, you are venting your fury on the messenger.

  11. dreamamit   September 22, 2009 at 8:39 pm

This review is BOGUS!! By some stupid people

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Schmuck, the above post is not a review.

The post is on the pitiful box office performance of Salman Khan’s latest crap-show Wanted.

How would a dolt like you know the difference between a review and box office numbers.

    Scoot, now.

  12. polpo   September 23, 2009 at 11:01 am

hi srk fan…..its doing very well in india…tatz wthat matters….. yes i agree yuvraj was bad..but then wantedz not at all a bad movie..

I dont want 2 argue with u but then my only problem with dis article is the title “Salman Khan Finished; Wanted, Another BO Disaster”. Never write bad about anything when u dont have full information…. films like delhi6, tashan, billu & krazzy may have worked in USA but it didnt work in india…just chill..

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    1. You write: hi srk fan…..

Here, read our reviews of SRK films: Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Billu, Om Shanti Om and Chak De India.

After reading them, come tell us if you still think we’re biased.

    2. Our context is mainly the U.S., where Salman Khan’s movies lately have been disasters. Just pathetic. Look at the table above.

That said, Salman Khan’s movies like God Tussi Great Ho, Yuvvraaj, Heroes et al have not fared well in India too. Source: BoxOfficeIndia

    3. BTW, Salman Khan’s Wanted Bombs at UK Box Office Too

  13. desi_guy   September 23, 2009 at 1:01 pm

Dude First to get the facts right. WANTED is declared a HIT and a savior for the box office.

I do agree with you that it has not fared brilliantly at US and UK box office, but in India its a Craze – India the Home Town of Bollywood / Hindi Movies and its a confirmed Hit.

I have a problem with the title though “Salman Khan Finished; Wanted, Another BO Disaster”. Many Hollywood movies do not work at all in India with very less returns, that does not mean Hollywood is doomed.

For Bollywood movies Indian Audience and Response is the crux.. US and UK are just icings on the cake.

I suggest – Dont be a frog in the well. Expand Your Thoughts..

    Cheers!!

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    1. You write: First to get the facts right. WANTED is declared a HIT and a savior for the box office.

Kiddo, SearchIndia.com is not your bakwas idle chit-chat forum.

SI is not one of those Dipu, you know, yesterday I saw a dinosaur on the way to the gym blogs.

Unless you are stating your opinion (which you are entitled to, of course), you must provide a credible source with links.

    Comprende.

Most folks here know this. Time you did too if you want to be taken seriously by our intelligent readers.

WANTED is declared a HIT and a savior for the box office?

Declared by who? Your three-year-old nephew.

    2. You write: I do agree with you that it has not fared brilliantly at US and UK box office,

    Thanks for stating the obvious.

has not fared brilliantly at US and UK box office? Stop pussyfooting around with words. Be a man and acknowledge that the movie is a f**king disaster of Salmanesque proportions.

Look at the U.S. Box office numbers and UK box office numbers. Brilliant is not a word that can come anywhere within 100 miles of these depressingly pitiful numbers.

If we were Salman Khan, we’d be seriously contemplating hemlock.

    3. You write: US and UK are just icings on the cake

Go tell that to Eros/Ayngaran, Yashraj, UTV and all the other Bollywood/Kollywood/Tollywood distributors who have released 100 Plus movies in the U.S. in recent years.

These days, some Indian films are releasing in the U.S. ahead of their release in India.

Bollywood stars fly down here to North America for premieres (Akshay Kumar for CC2C at AMC Empire in NYC Times Square, Priyanka Chopra for What’s Your Rashee in Toronto, Abhi-Ash for Guru at AMC Empire in NYC Times Square).

    Some icing. Some cake.

Beta, being stupid is a minor offense but flaunting your stupidity is a major crime.

Sir,read everything that you had to say about Salman.bt just look through this:
    http://bollybusiness.wordpress.com/2009/09/23/finally-wanted-gets-what-salman-deserves/

some points I would like to make are–
i)he is definitely not the first nor the last actor to be balding or ageing.
ii) this particular movie was not made for NRIs..this was something that was for WE INDIANS..we like this..
if it looks foolish that a single man is thrashing so many guys then machines acting like humans (read:Terminator,Transformer, etc.) is equally if not more illogical..
iii) and you are no authority to say if he is finished or not..
iv) he is the only Indian actor to be framed in Tussaud’s on the basis of public poll..so questions about his popularity should be kept aside..on numerous occasions he has been voted the most popular of the Khan trio..

and finally I dont think Salman is ever going to say “indiablogs.searchindia.com” is finished!! just shows who needs to bother for whom..

yaar try to learn to respect achievers..you can take nothing away from him by saying or writing all this stuff..

p.s:maybe after reading this you are going to delete my account..that doesn’t matter to me..All that I wanted to say is Best of Luck..

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    1. Kiddo, time for you to realize that at the SI blog we don’t delete accounts however critical you are of us if you are polite and do not engage in trash talk.

Since you’ve made your points politely, we’ve not removed a single letter from your comment.

That we find your comment utterly ridiculous and distasteful is of course a different matter.

    2. Our point was simple, Wanted is a total disaster in the U.S. and UK as the charts we provided clearly indicated.

And Salman has a track record of flop after flop after flop – God Tussi, Heroes, Yuvvraaj. An unenviable record matched by few top Bollywood stars. Dare to disagree?

    3. We haven’t seen Transformer but to compare Wanted to Terminator is like comparing an ebbing candle with the mighty Sun.

One (Terminator) heralded a new genre of man vs machine while the other (Wanted) can only unleash a genre of it can’t get worse than this garbage movies.

    4. You write: he is definitely not the first nor the last actor to be balding or ageing.

Sure, but Salman Khan is one of the most lethargic, hopeless Bollywood actors around.

    5. You write: and you are no authority to say if he is finished or not..

And what gives you the authority to say that we have no authority. 😉

    6. You write: he is the only Indian actor to be framed in Tussaud’s

Who gives a f**k about some wax museum.

Our interest in wax buildings disappeared with the burning of the wax palace in the Mahabharatha.

  17. pipespro   September 24, 2009 at 7:59 am

Wanted is a Great movie.Who needs us and uk (except u guys , who are nomades and are very proud to borrow someone else’s culture. Wanted does not need US OR UK(as is the case with ur “Haklu khan) SALMAN is too big a star to be dependent on all u nomades and second grade citizens in a foreign land . First go n see the movie before commenting on it … u pc of shit!!!! heee…..

plzzzzz read dis abt collections in india of wanted.
    http://boxofficeindia.com/npages.php?page=shownews&articleid=1154&nCat=news

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    Thank you for the link.

Undeniably, Wanted is a BIG disaster in the U.S. and BIG disaster in the UK.

Even bachchas (kids) like Ranbhir Kapooor have done better than this Senior Citizen Salman Khan. Look at the BO numbers above for Bachna Ae Haseeno.

Isn’t that a mighty big shame for Salman Khan.

  20. aniketranade   September 24, 2009 at 10:32 am

you sound like a retard with a toy in his hand…..”hey look I have chart….look at my chart….lol”

Numbers dont lie…and salman’s movies such indeed!….just funny how you are saying “look at the chart” in each one of your responses…We know you have a CHART…lol…just relax will you?

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    1. Your modus operandi seems to be, hey, we just can’t tackle SI on the facts, charts or their nonpareil reviews, so let’s try some ad hominem attacks on them and see if they stick.

    Won’t work here, kiddo.

Our readers are too smart (there are exceptions, obviously…hint hint…above commenter) to fall for your juvenile tricks. Peddle them someplace else.

    2. You ought to be kissing our derriere for compiling such valuable box office charts for you. But ingrate that you are, you jeer at us.

Sign of the times we guess that no good deed goes unpunished.

  21. Jyoti Ramakrishnan   September 24, 2009 at 8:37 pm

I never expected movie to do well here as audience in US and UK enjoy more of a Karan Johar and Yash Chopra’s kind of drama movie or comedies or something that is different and interesting for them such as ghajini. In India I agree it’s on it’s way to becoming a hit from the bollywood news. I think London Dreams will do well in US.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

We saw the London Dreams trailer on the big screen yesterday.

    Worse than mediocre.

arnab9211 said: ii) this particular movie was not made for NRIs..this was something that was for WE INDIANS..we like this..

First of all I can’t recall Prabhu Deva and his team telling the world that this movie was made for native Indians and not for the NRIs, this is just another malicious statement, I’m pretty sure that this statement was not done by their PR team either. Why then they go all the way out to promote their movies in overseas?? Just for the heck of wasting money????

This movie is remade fo the third time. We NRIs have watched the original and some of us did like it. The problem is after seeing Mahesh and Vijay donning the role the older balding Salman is simply a turn off.

Just stop stereotyping us the NRIs, and I’m really bored with this argument “they don’t make this kinda movies for NRIs it’s for INDIANS” .

We are Indians too, with better taste.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Good points, particularly the last sentence. 😉

  23. polpo   September 25, 2009 at 3:04 am

Are you jealous of other people’s success?.. ur only one against this film….WANTED is doing very well in india breaking all records tatz wat matters lol……….enjoy the movie..

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

You write: ur only one against this film

    Are you a complete idiot?

It should have been obvious to the dumbest schmuck from the above chart that the Indian diaspora in both the U.S. and UK are totally against this piece of trash a.k.a. Wanted.

  24. Bhagat_Singh   September 25, 2009 at 11:28 am

Alright, as you like numbers i will provide you the numbers for this HIT movie.

I agree with you that the movie has not worked in USA or UK but that doesnt matter. The movie has collected enough money in India to overcome any losses incurred in USA and UK.

The movie has made more than 35 crore in just the opening weekend and it is still raking in more money. I understand that you didnt like the movie but you cannot ignore the money that movie has made. I am not saying it is a Super Duper Hit movie as i thought it was an OK one time watch movie but i dont think it was trash as you put it.

Just a link to prove that i am not talking out of my ass.

    http://www.bollywoodhungama.com/trade/business_talk/index.html

Also i dont see the Partner’s movie collection on this bible of yours. Well here are the figures which are self explanatory.

    http://www.bollywoodhungama.com/movies/overseasboxoffice/12766/index.html

Also you should read this link as you think salman is finished…

    http://www.bollywoodhungama.com/features/2009/09/23/5522/index.html

I am taking a quote by Vipul shah(Director) from the article.

Vipul Shah – “The Top-5 actors that we have in the industry today – Shah Rukh, Aamir, Salman, Akshay and Hrithik – are a force. They may get an occasional flop or two but if their upcoming film shows promise, audiences are bound to throng theaters in dozens. It doesn’t matter for them if their much moved star has a flop behind him because curiosity of them seeing him in a good film supersedes everything else.”

    Enjoy your day

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    1. You write: Also i dont see the Partner’s movie collection on this bible of yours.

Sarcastic of SI, are you. Here take this.

The chart is of 2008 and 2009 movies.

Further, Partner is stolen shit. We’ve said that in the SI bible previously.

A disgusting copy of the Hollywood movie Hitch.

Of course, Salman Khan wouldn’t worry about such ‘small things’ such as benefiting from theft.

Please don’t give us the old Nazi ‘I was only following orders’ excuse that Salman Khan was only following the producers’/directors’ instructions and was unaware of the theft.

There’s a pattern with this fella – God Tussi Great Ho was also theft, stolen from Bruce Almighty, Yuvvraaj was lifted from Rain Man and Partner.

The English word for anyone dealing in stolen property is Fence.

    2. Thanks for your links.

In your third link, we don’t see anyone we think highly of.

Also, before uncorking the Dom Perignon, let’s not lose sight of the fact that Salman’s recent movies God Tussi, Yuvvraaj and Heroes were flops in India too. Source: BoxOfficeIndia.com

    3. You write: I agree with you that the movie has not worked in USA or UK but that doesnt matter.

Let’s stop the pussyfooting, cut the euphemisms and state it clearly in plain English: Wanted is a disaster in the U.S. and UK.

And why doesn’t it matter? Somebody must have likely lost money.

Let’s not forget the movie had a wide release here, including in mainstream American theatres like Regal.

  25. Ace   September 25, 2009 at 2:24 pm

    I completely agree.

Thank God someone at least is wise enough to see Wanted for the pure, unadulterated BS it is.

I’m sick of every tom, dick and harry fawning over wanted. The movie actually is a totally crappy paean to sallu’s (assumed) greatness, while completely ignoring the universal truth—- “Sallu can’t act, pure and simple”. LOL

p.s.- hey can you please tell me how to include smileys and other cool stuff in my post..thanks.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Voila, one more sane element (we thought we were the only ones left).

Alas, we just discovered that you share the same IP address of some scumbags we ‘exterminated’ from this blog for trash talk.

Nasty coincidence, eh. What are you upto?

  26. Bhagat_Singh   September 25, 2009 at 2:46 pm

First of all we are not discussing whether a movie is a copy or not. Just because you couldnt counter argue, you raised a new point (very immature of you) Secondly you are probably an amatuer to indian film industry if you talk too much about copying. The top movie in your list Ghajini is a copy of a tamil movie. By just obtaining certain rights you cannot say it is not a copy.

Further more Race, Billu, Dil bole Haddipa, Thoda Pyar…Thoda Magic, Luck which are in your chart are all copies of English or regional movies. I can point out movies of all Top heroes which are ‘remake’, ‘inspiration’ or copy of other movies. I think it will take another page to discuss this so for now. Sush!!!

We were discussing whether Salman can is finished or not and I gave you what the industry said about him.(which you very conveniently fail to recognize).

Salman khan has and will always rule the masses. People like you may hate him but you cannot ignore him.

Anyways long story short, Salman Khan wont be finished by your two bit article or your stupid chart. He can give 10 flops in a row and still be in the top 5 actors in India. I believe you should go outside his house in India and see how his fans react when he comes out. Maybe you will changing your opinion on weather he is fnished or not….

    Peace Out

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    1. You write: we are not discussing whether a movie is a copy or not. Just because you couldnt counter argue

Since you seem to suffer from short-term memory issues, let’s refresh your recollection.

Who sarcastically raised the issue of Partner first? You not us, kiddo.

So, you should have anticipated what you got.

Did no one ever tell you that when you make a detour off the main road, you never know where that road might take you.

    2. You write: you are probably an amatuer to indian film industry if you talk too much about copying.

No, beta. We are not amatuer (sic) to indian film industry. We’ve been witnessing this egregious theft for eons.

    3. You write: The top movie in your list Ghajini is a copy of a tamil movie. By just obtaining certain rights you cannot say it is not a copy

By that single sentence, you’ve exposed your ignorance to the world.

Ghajini is a copy of a Tamil movie, eh? Who let an ignoramus like you in front of a keyboard?

In a thousand years, those morons in Kollywood (Tamil film industry) cannot come up with such a theme on their own.

Schmuck, both the Hindi and Tamil versions of Ghajini are bastard children of Memento.

You dare tell us, it’s not stolen from Memento. Here, read these two reviews Ghajini and Ghajini (Hindi).

    3. You write: Further more Race, Billu, Dil bole Haddipa, Thoda Pyar…Thoda Magic, Luck which are in your chart are all copies of English or regional movies. I can point out movies of all Top heroes which are ‘remake’, ‘inspiration’ or copy of other movies. I think it will take another page to discuss this so for now

Nice argument – Ram is stealing, Shyam is stealing, Gopal is stealing, so what’s wrong with me stealing. Is that all you could come up with?

    4. You write: Salman khan has and will always rule the masses. People like you may hate him but you cannot ignore him.

You may find it hard to believe but we don’t give a flying f**k one way or the other.

We neither hate him nor do we love him. Whether Salman rules or Salman drowns doesn’t matter one whit to us. We’re indifferent to him.

We’ll leave the cheerleading and unabashed admiration to the mindless sycophants in India.

All we’re concerned with here are the facts of the indisputable box-office numbers (Wanted is a disaster with the Indian diaspora) and our opinion that Wanted is a piece of shit.

    5. You write: He can give 10 flops in a row and still be in the top 5 actors in India.

As we’ve said often, anything is possible in Incredible India.

In a land, where people are so stupid as to steal a master-print of a Harman Baweja-Priyanka Chopra film anything is possible.

Stealing the print of a Harman Baweja movie, that surely must rank as the acme of stupidity.

With idiots like that around, no, we wouldn’t be surprised if Salman can give 10 flops in a row and still be in the top 5 actors in India.

    6. You write: We were discussing whether Salman can is finished

Given his track record lately, it’s hard to argue that Salman Khan has a place at the same table as the Big Khans of Bollywood i.e. Sharukh Khan, Aamir Khan and even Saif Ali Khan these days.

Of course, Salman Khan can sup at a different table, in the company of Zayed Khan and Fardeen Khan.

Whatever06 said:” We are Indians too but with better taste.” Does this better taste include movies like Ghajini, Singh is king, Rab ne bana di jodi and so on which are blockbuster or superhit in US?

If so I think, Indians in India have a far better taste where movies such as Kaminey, A Wednesday, Omkara, have done far better than in overseas market. Or to be fair we can say that both India and US have fair amount of dumb Indian audiences with merely 20% smart.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

We were hoping Kaminey would have a bigger response here in the U.S.

But it was not to be.

Jyoti Ramakrishnan said: Does this better taste include movies like Ghajini, Singh is king, Rab ne bana di jodi and so on which are blockbuster or superhit in US?

US is not the only country with NRIs. For your information movies like Omkara, A Wednesday, don’t even come to theatres in some countries. Not every other movies released in India are screened else where.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Omkara, we know for a fact, debuted here because we saw it in a theatre. But we can’t remember A Wednesday. Maybe, it had a limited release in Anil Ambani’s badly managed Indian theatres.

Movie Shitty on Oak Tree Road, Edison (NJ) is one of the worst theatres in NJ. The c**ksuckers only sold us tickets for a particular hall and screened the movie in a different hall. Clueless buffoons.

heh…..exactly what you think i’m up to.

Exterminating me WAS a cheap shot, but to give you credit, guess i was spouting trashtalk. Anyway, accept this by way of an apology. not as grovelling as you wish, i know, but i think it’s fair enough.

    what do you think?

It is quite evident that most of your statements are based on US boxoffice results (or UK).

I dont deny the charts but I dont think making generic statements like @@@@ is finished or ‘xxxx is box office disaster’ is wise. Because the fate of a bollywood star is decided based on his films performance in India. So if wanted is a hit in indi, salman khan is not finished. So no harm in putting your views but as you lways point out to others, if you are making generalised or judgemental statements like these they have to be supported by more concrete facts like the films box office performance in India.

Also I not that most of your responses bear sarcasm towards the one posting the comment which to a certain extent offensive.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    1. You write: It is quite evident that most of your statements are based on US boxoffice results (or UK). I dont deny the charts but I dont think making generic statements like @@@@ is finished or ‘xxxx is box office disaster’ is wise

We try to provide authentic box office data for our country U.S and occasionally, the UK.

As is clear from the chart, Salman Khan is finished with Indians in the U.S. Look at the box office performance of his recent movies in the U.S.

Salman is at the bottom with the Indian diaspora in the U.S., way behind the big Khans SRK, Aamir and Saif Ali Khan (after Love Aaj Kal).

If the overseas markets are not important to Bollywood as you imply, why was Wanted released in 71 screens in the U.S. alone?

It’s an undeniable fact that Wanted is a piece of shit that Indians here overwhelmingly rejected in the first week.

    2. You write: most of your responses bear sarcasm towards the one posting the comment which to a certain extent offensive

Are you out of your mind. No, please don’t respond because it was a rhetorical question.

You cannot find another blog where so much respect is accorded to the commenters.

Hi! I was eager to see your review of Wanted, but I guess you just put up the numbers.

To be honest, Wanted is the first Hindi movie in years where I loathed even the trailers. A really poor copy of Telugu Pokiri, the writers even copied his lines, verbatim! Eww.

And Salman Khan, I wonder how he could take his fans so much for granted, his face is expressionless in those damn dance sequences, and even his dance steps, the way he mouths his lines, jeez, he looks like he’s got lock-jaw or something.

And on a different, more pleasanter note, how have you been? 🙂

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Just back from a meal at an Andhra restaurant. Crappy food.

    1. You write: I was eager to see your review of Wanted, but I guess you just put up the numbers.

No, we watched Wanted in the theatre on Friday. Here’s the Wanted review.

The sick piece of shit is a box office disaster here.

    2. You write: And on a different, more pleasanter note, how have you been

All’s well except that your fans (yours truly included) missed you tremendously. Nijanga miss chesamu, telusa!

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Why did you delete your facebook profile, btw? I sent you a friend request long long ago, still awaiting confirmation. You could start a Facebook group you know… Like you are active on Twitter… It makes it easier for us to follow you. We get updates whenever you post something, and it helps. 🙂

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    Neither can we. 😉

    2. We’ll do something with Facebook.

    Soon, we promise. Nijanga.

Aw… c’mon people… stop arguing… this is just a blog, where the author is entitled to post his own thoughts.

Well… okay… SearchIndia comes up in Google search results (kudos to your SEO guy)… but is this a site to trust?

Check out what other trusted sites like NDTV and MSN has to say about the movie:

    http://movies.ndtv.com/movie_story.aspx?ID=ENTEN20090110316
    http://entertainment.in.msn.com/bollywood/article.aspx?cp-documentid=3244272

Enjoy the movie… its worth a watch!

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    1. You write: but is this a site to trust?

SearchIndia.com is the site to trust.

    2. You write: kudos to your SEO guy

So you think merit has no place in pushing up a link.

    3. You write: Enjoy the movie… its worth a watch!

    No. No. No.

Wanted is a must-not-watch piece of trash.

  36. Asha Tampa   September 28, 2009 at 3:48 pm

I just became friends with someone on Facebook who knows me from the SI blog. A fellow commentator, if you will 😛

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    Wow. That’s interesting.

You are quite popular unlike us. See, you have 189 followers on Twitter and poor us only 23. Sob. Sob.

  37. Asha Tampa   September 28, 2009 at 4:12 pm

LOL, look who’s taking, and talk of false modesty! 😛

Most of the followers on Twitter are from the city of Tampa, little do they know I’m just an imposter using their name 😉

And btw, are there many girls on the SI blog?

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    1. No, really. You have 700% more Twitter followers. We’re impressed. Seriously.

    2. Answer to you know what: No.

    3. You write: And btw, are there many girls on the SI blog?

    Hard to say.

Plus, how do you define guys and gals?

Merely physical characteristics or behavior too?

If you go by behavior stereotypes, some guys here may actually be gals and vice-versa. 😉

  38. who could that be 😉

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Do you think it could be Nayantara? 😉

  39. Asha Tampa   September 28, 2009 at 4:46 pm

Sleepy, got ofc 2moro. Waited for your response to my comment, but looks like you’re busy 🙂

Cya, and do create that group on FB soon, I swear its gonna have a hell lot more fans than 23 🙂

    Will work on FB.

    Guten nacht.

Man Salman looked bad even in the trailers. Totally stone faced, could seriously give Keanu Reeves a run for his money.

Someone commented NRIs are Indian’s with better taste. Is that sarcastic / discriminatory wit or what?

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    1. You write: Salman looked bad even in the trailers. Totally stone faced,

    Agree 100%.

    2. You write: Someone commented NRIs are Indian’s with better taste. Is that sarcastic / discriminatory wit or what?

    Discriminatory? Are you kidding.

    Truth can’t be discriminatory!

If Wanted box office numbers offer any insights, it’s that NRIs have infinitely batter tastes.

enough with the CHART pal…..we know you have a CHART….lol. calm down…there are thousands of these charts available online…get a life!

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Talking of charts, we did a new one.

Just for you, baby. Here it is: Salman Khan’s Wanted Plunges at Box Office in 2nd Week. Happy?

Wonder why all those charts exposing Salman Khan’s pitiful stature in Bollywood compared to his peers is throwing you into a frothing fit. What could possibly be the reason.

  42. simply rdb   October 5, 2009 at 7:34 pm

@SI – Beta, being stupid is a minor offense but flaunting your stupidity is a major crime.

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>

thats so ironic, since its coming from a person who is committing the crime

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Wake Up Sid Box Office – Ranbir’s Bigger Than Salman’s.

    Happy?

  43. berational   October 25, 2009 at 11:53 am

    First the facts:

    1) Salman Khan’s Wanted has been at least a superhit. However, the exact status (Superhit or Blockbuster) will be decided in the coming weeks as its still running strong. Source: Boxofficeindia.com

    2) Wanted hes been given excellent reviews by critics (4 star ratings)by timesofindia, Taran Adarsh etc. I assume they have better knowledge about films than u guys. Source: timesofindia.com, bollywoodhungama.com

3)Now Something from common sense: Bollywood movies are primarily meant for Indian people. And India is of course its biggest market. Thus a movie’s success or failure does not depend much on foreign markets. All the Russian, Italian, and french movies are “brought dead” in India. That does not mean they are trash!!

    4) Now something from the moral standpoint: Think twice before saying “Salman Khan is finished” if you want to be a good critic. Do respect the achievers. And try not to make a fool of yourself.

    Thanks,

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    1. The fact of the matter is that Salman Khan is a flop, a has-been, a failure at the U.S. box office.

Sure, he may have rocked the box office at one time. We too have enjoyed some of his old movies like Maine Pyaar Kiya et al.

But these days Salman Khan’s movies are consistently at the bottom of the pile.

Look at this table. Salman Khan’s movies Main Aurr Mrs.Khanna, God Tussi Great Ho, Wanted and Yuvvraaj are all at the bottom of the pile.

    What a shame.

    2. We do not have much credibility in the numbers coming from India.

Also, are Indians in India significantly different from the Indians in the U.S. where Bollywood movies are concerned?

    3. You write: Wanted hes (sic) been given excellent reviews by critics (4 star ratings)by timesofindia, Taran Adarsh etc. I assume they have better knowledge about films than u guys.

    You ASSume wrong.

Here’s what your sweetie pie Taran Adarash also said about Blue:

    Roll out the red carpet.
    Blow the conch shells.
    Beat the drums.
    It’s time to pop champagne…

Ha ha ha ha. We haven’t stopped laughing. And you want to stake your credibility on this fella. BTW, read the last ‘hurricane’ para in Taran’s review. 😉

And you know how badly Blue turned out at the UK box office. Some hurricane.

Next time, find a better engine to hitch your wagon.

    4. You write: Bollywood movies are primarily meant for Indian people

So the Indians who flock to Bollywood movies in the U.S. are not Indians, eh?

Why would Bollywood distributors release movie after movie in theatres all across the U.S. if the overseas market is not commercially that important as you imply. The overseas market is very important for a Bollywood movie’s success.

Is there no limit to your nonsense. No, that’s just a rhetorical question. Please do not bother responding.

    5. You write: Now something from the moral standpoint: Think twice before saying “Salman Khan is finished”

Retard, what part of this table don’t you understand. Can’t you see Salman Khan at the bottom of the pile in movie after movie.

Try peddling your baloney someplace else next time, kiddo.

  44. berational   November 3, 2009 at 5:36 pm

Guys, Some news to cheer about!!

Salman Khan’s Wanted has been declared as “SUPER HIT” in the Box Office.

Have a look at it yourself at http://www.boxofficeindia.com/

There is nothing called bad publicity. Its good always.

    Eat healthy, Think Better

    Be-rational

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

    1. We’re generally skeptical of numbers coming from India.

    2. Now chew on the following posts:

    a) London Dreams – Humiliating Box Office Disaster
    b) Main Aurr Mrs.Khanna – Box Office Gods Piss on Salman Khan, Again & Again & Again
    c) Salman Khan Finished; Wanted, Another BO Disaster
    d) Salman Khan’s Wanted Bombs Even at UK Box Office
    e) God Tussi Great Ho – Pathetic at Box Office
    f) Moviegoers Dump on Yuvvraaj – Box Office Disaster

    Happy? 😉

    3. Are you still not convinced that:
Salman Khan – the name that spells box office disaster in Bollywood.
Salman Khan – the name that means bad luck in Bollywood.
Salman Khan – the name that turns away audiences in Bollywood.
Salman Khan – the name that heralds crappy movies in Bollywood.
Salman Khan – the name that comes last among the Khans in Bollywood.
