Even as the desperate terrorist outfit LTTE intensifies recruitment of children to expand its depleted cadres of foot-soldiers, Tamils around the world have lost their voices.

No protests. Not a pipsqueak from the clowns in Tamil Nadu, Sri Lanka, UK or Canada.Only a deafening silence fills the air.
Why is there such silence over LTTE’s child soldiers?
Simple answer, folks. Because there is already an Eelam (Tamil Nation) in the hearts and minds of Tamils everywhere that turns a Nelson’s Eye toward the most heinous atrocities committed by the LTTE but focuses their angst only on the Sinhalas.
That the LTTE terrorists have been recruiting children – and forcibly at that – is hardly anything new. It’s been going on for several years now.
But now with the LTTEÂ suffering crushing defeat after crushing defeat at the hands of the Sri Lankan armed forces lately, the terrorist outfit has expanded its forcible recruitment of children soldiers.
UNICEF Protests
This is what UNICEF’s Representative in Sri Lanka Philippe Duamelle had to say on Tuesday:
We have clear indications that the LTTE has intensified forcible recruitment of civilians and that children as young as 14 years old are now being targeted . These children are facing immediate danger and their lives are at great risk. Their recruitment is intolerable.
UNICEF says it’s documented over 6,000 cases of children recruited by theLTTE from 2003 to the end of 2008.
According to Duamelle:
Child soldiers suffer physical abuse, traumatic events and face death. Instead of hope, fear defines their childhood. Scores of injured children have been evacuated in the past week. Children are victims of this conflict by being killed, injured, recruited, displaced, separated and denied their every day needs due to the fighting.
Where are the voices of protest against this disgusting practice of recruiting children as soldiers? Where is Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Karunanidhi now?
The UNICEF also said Tuesday that it’s extremely alarmed at the high number of children being injured in the fighting in the northern area of Sri Lanka known as the Vanni.
LTTE denies recruiting anyone below the age of 18.

Btw, Karunanithi is not really protesting as he is with congress, who wants to see LTTE outfit totally dismantled. People of TN are in a great angry against Karunanithi and the congress, and BJP wants to use this sentiment to score votes and already given open support for SL Tamils and signs of removing ban on LTTE in India was also given by Advani, the LTTE is looking at this as a significant change in Indian foreign policy down the line if BJP comes to power.

This is wishful thinking …I am afraid the way this Govt is supporting the racist Sinhala army by providing them arms , 2000 crore interest free loan – with which they brought arms from PAkistan , non- lethal aid (whatever that means) ….few troops for key activites ….etc etc … LTTE should not kill somebody else in India ……

You are right in that. No one can support LTTE. It. is. a . banned. terrorist. organisation.
Only a heinous person thats inhuman would support LTTE. ANyone thats supports them got to be arrested. They have to be reported to the Police first. Only a criminal would support that outfit. An example is Seeman, the so-called-aruvai-rowdy-tamil-lover-director.
On a humanitarian basis, we need to support anyone thats suffering in this world – civilians – wither SInhalese or Tamilians.

I’m really sick of seeing the death and destructions that is going on. Whom to blame???? It’s a bloody unfortunate situation…..all should be blamed.
The sinhala govts. the tamil politics and the silent lambs of the tamil populations whom were drugged with dreams and unattainable aspirations and unforseen counterproductive actions….all should be blamed.
We on our part could not do anything concrete but just pay a lip service instead. Personally I have witnessed horrific things from my childhood that happened to minorities in this lunatic politicians run country.

Well, Abu Dhabi is faring OK. But, Dubai is in real trouble. About 60% of the industries are mainly linked to real estate or based on it. So, those companies are defaulting in big way. They shedding off staff and some have closed and simply vanished.
Ours is Printing, we have steady business due to 50% of govt. business supplying commercial and security products. We are in the safe zone.
Even the banks have closed either completely or partly their real estate depts. Lots of people lost their jobs in banks. Very unsteady.
Many big time projects are simply hanged and abandoned. The govt. of course like any other issues half truth about the economy. They have enough money but, industries are falling. Electronics have lost its usual share of sales. One of my friends working to a major Notebook selling company says they have lost nearly 70% of Laptop sales.
