(U.S. Visitors: We’ve started a new category Deals that’ll highlight good promotions)Â
Calling all desi coupon fiends in the U.S. – Tomorrow i.e. December 9, Domino’s Pizza is offering large 4-topping pizzas for just $8 if you order online at dominos.com.
In these trying economic times, that’s a nice deal (we are sure some desi here will complain that a deal ain’t good unless it’s free without mail-in-rebate).
The 4-topping takeout/carryout pizza is $19.95 if you order it today without coupons.
Apparently, the deal is to celebrate Domino’s 48th birthday.
Say what you will, we think Pizza Hut pizzas are the best.
Over the years, we’ve tried Pizza Hut, Papa John’s, Domino’s and scores of smaller local brands like Nino’s, Grotto and Season’s, but nothing comes close to Pizza Hut.
We also like Pizza Hut’s (Mon-Fri) lunch buffets, which give you salads, different kinds of pizzas, breadsticks and pasta for $6.95.
Domino’s says the $8 promotion on Tuesday is available at participating stores and that deep dish may cost extra.
Domino’s pizza crusts come in four kinds - thin, hand-tossed, deep dish and Brooklyn Style. We usually pick Thin Crust.
Have you tried Pizza Hut in India.. not bad.. they have green chilly topping, which I love.

Never tried Pizzas at Pizza Hut in India. Only other smaller local brands.
BTW, coupon worked (Thanks). Borrowed Transsiberian for tonight.
What I want to know is if SI currently resides in NJ (based on all the horror stories about the Movie City cinema in Edison) what on earth is SI doing promoting chain pizza??? I could understand if you were stuck living in some God-forsaken place like Nebraska, where they have no concept of how to make a pizza, and had to resort to Domino’s or Papa Johns.
I lived in good pizza exile for five years in American’s heart(of darkness) land. But having returned to the mecca of pizza production, I can not touch a pizza if it is not made by a local pizzeria. Surely a good desi can scour the community magazines for those Monday/Tuesday $6 large one-topping pizza specials, no? What about those sweet coupons on the back of supermarket receipts at Pathmark or A & P? For anyone living in the NY Tri-State area, chain pizza is disappointing and should be considered the last possible option after all others have been exhausted. 🙁
SearchIndia.com Responds:
1. We’ve had non-chain local pizzas in CA, Long Island, NJ, DE, PA & a few other places.
Never found any that stood out. Except once maybe at a pizza place on the North Shore of Long Island.
2. You write: Surely a good desi can scour the community magazines for those Monday/Tuesday $6 large one-topping pizza specials, no?
We’re talking about $8 for a 4-topping Large pizza. Never underestimate the potential of a desi to scout for a cheap deal (yeah, yeah, we know all deals are supposed to be cheap. But it’s the desi hallmark to find the cheap deal).
Now back to Transsiberian to watch the free Redbox DVD (didn’t we just tell you about the desi propensity for all things free). 😉
Pizza Hut is the best in india as well, but a bit more expensive…
SearchIndia.com Responds:
Does Pizza Hut in India have buffets like here (Mon-Fri, $6.95)?
You people think Pizza Hut here and in India is good only ‘cos you haven’t eaten at Pizza Hut in Dubai.
SearchIndia.com Responds:
Why? Do they offer Beef Pizzas in Dubai?
Why do you ask that? do they not offer beef on pizza here?
All food in Dubai just happens to be yummier and ten grades better than the nonsense food you get here. And that includes meat, dairy, fish, veggies, fruits.
SearchIndia.com Responds:
You write above: All food in Dubai just happens to be yummier and ten grades better than the nonsense food you get here
Why?
Because most of the food there isn’t lab grown/ hormone injected. The fish does not come from fish farms.

Likewise with Europe, we’ve heard.
