Drona : The Bollywood half baked recipe

An indian curry with videshi ingredients by goldie behl, the wannabe master chef. So here goes the recipe.

1 Kg Abhishek bachan clad in altered rajaputra costumes doing indiana jones,phantom,batman,zorro,neo(matrix) blended act.

1 kg of KayKayMenon with eccentric irritating histronics fitted in krroor sing(old chandrakanta serial) attire.

500gms of Priyanka chopra with a lara croft flavour studded with trinity(matrix) masala all over it.

100gms of Jayabachan dipped in same old montonous beta-maa spice.

500 grams of action(imported from all various videshi vendors like indiana jones and company)

250 grams of videshi extras shaking legs to indian tunes

1kg computer generated graphics to garnish.

1kg of masala from batman begins, davinci code, phantom and so many others.

Now cook this and make sure to add a pinch of song every 10 minutes. 2 hours and forty five minutes, the dish is all over and still it sucks!!! So what went wrong? Oh forgot to add the most important ingredient, the script or rather added a half baked script.

Coming to the story. It starts with priyanka chopra narrating the drona legacy story to a small kid. Aditya (Abhishek Bachan) is working in a store some where in europe(Actuall i missed the begining). He have a golden bracelet with diamonds studded in it. Then there is Riza Raizad(Kay Kay menon) a magician to the world and a demon/titan(asura) with in. He is in search of drona who can lead him to the nectar(amritam) which will give him immortality. Also he is aware of the fact that drona is his arch rival. Once Aditya gets a chance to meet Riza as a distinguished guest and while shaking hands with aditya, riza realizes that he is drona. Goons are sent to get aditya and aditya’s acquaintances like Sister Anne, baker colleague etc comes to his resuce. When all of them fails, sonia(Priyanka chopra) arrives to do a trinity act and save him. He is taken to garage where he is explained of his real persona, the drona, but he is skeptical. He is taken to a palace somewhere in rajasthan where he meets his mom Rani Jayati(Jaya Bachchan). Riza in search of drona reaches them and turn Rani Jayati into a statue. Thus begins the chase of drona and riza. Wil they reach nectar? What happens to rani jayati? How aditya realises his true self(Drona) etc forms rest of the story.

The major flaw is the script. With a lack lusture script you can’t do anything. It falls flat eventhough at times it provides some thrilling moments.

Graphics are top notch and it’s quality makes you feel an hollywood movie experience.

Performances are just ok with AB Jr stealing the show. Priya always mouthing her dialogue with a prefix “Babuji ne kaha tha” leaves you irritated. With all his histronics and eccentric character, kay kay menon fails to make an impact and enrages you. Jaya bachan is still to get out of usual maa-beta sentiments, nothing noteworthy on her performance. The rest is best to forget.

Music is ok and hummable. Actually my friend liked the song. I will give a thumbs up for that peppy and melodious numbers.

Camera was superb with theme based lighting pattern. Sets and art direction was a big let down for me. The flaws were apparent.

Story is a mix of all those acclaimed super heroes blended in our indian bed time story of a prince fighting the demon to save the world. So nothing worth mentioning.

Verdict : – Flop for sure, if children didn’t save the super hero.

Yes, i just posted the first review here, because, this is the only section to post, and trust me, i am traumatized. What if he killed us at once with that Sword. Why he is killng us Inch by inch by such a piece of shit x)
