Among the many opportunistic skunks that litter the Indian political landscape, it’s hard to find two worse specimens than the political parties JD(S) and BJP in the South Indian state of Karnataka.
Barely a few weeks after the JD(S) reneged on its promise to turn over the position of Chief Minister to the Hindu nationalist BJP amidst an exchange of ugly words, the two parties are back in bed with each other. The two parties plan to meet the Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur on Monday to stake a claim to form the government.
In case you have forgotten, let’s remind you of just a few of the ugly exchanges between the JD(S) and BJP in the recent past.
Remember, how a BJP Minister filed a murder conspiracy complaint against former Karnataka Chief Minister H.D.Kumaraswamy. JD(S) leaders were not far behind and explained their decision not to transfer power to the BJP on the grounds of maintaining peace and communal harmony!
JD(S) Â leader H.D.Devegowda and his son and former Chief Minister H.D.Kumaraswamy, and BJP leader B.S.Yediyurappa have repeatedly demonstrated that there is nothing beneath them in their unending quest for power.
