ZNMD 2nd Wknd BO – Better Than Singham 1st Wknd
Hey, who’s surprised?
Not us.
Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara has found favor with moviegoers, as the wise SI predicted.
For the July 15-17, 2011 opening weekend, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara did close to a million dollars. Well, $960,548 to be precise.
The movie came in at No-15 at the U.S. box office and had an average gross of $9,605 (a very good average, in our not-so-humble opinion).
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’s box office performance is a lot better than all but a handful of Bollywood films.
We’re pleased as punch to tell you that Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara did better than that Bollywood murderer Salman Khan’s Ready and Dabangg. 😉
With Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’s strong showing, we expect Zoya Akhtar is now a hot commodity in Bollywood. Good for the babe.
Here’s how Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara did compared to a few prominent Bollywood films in the U.S.:

Don’t remember reading Viy, only The Overcoat and a bunch of other stories.
Hey Search India,
Havent been here for some days. sorry to divert off the topic here but your thoughts on the recent Shivsena SRK controversy.taking any sides?
SearchIndia.com Responds:
Both are chutias.
SRK for being a Pak-loving Chutia and the Sena for always finding the bogeyman in outsiders (not foreigners but people from UP, Bihar etc).
If SRK wants to have a party or orgy at his place, whether on the day of the blast or the day after or 2-days later, it’s his prerogative.
As if anyone cares for the victims. If people really cared for the unfortunate souls, Mumbai would not have several million people sleeping on the footpath and pissing/shitting in the public daily.
As we’ve said time and again, Indians are the #1 hypocrites in the world. No one else comes remotely close.
Bottom line, outrage in the mouths of Indians politicians is just a precursor of extortion.
That’s terrific, seeing a fine movie up there among all those trash.
Three cheers to Zoya 🙂
I watched the movie in Vancouver last weekend.
We first caught the Deathly Hallows and then this in back-to-back shows.
While the auditorium for Deathly Hallows got packed at least 30 minutes before the show, ZNMD didn’t do that badly. Slowly but surely all the seats were taken and the viewers did seem to have a pretty good time. Of course, Vancouver’s suburbs have a very high Desi population, so this wasn’t very surprising for a big banner movie.
SearchIndia.com Responds:
You write: ZNMD didn’t do that badly….so this wasn’t very surprising for a big banner movie.
Despite the presence of Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif, ZNMD was not really a typical big banner Bollywood movie. And that worked as a positive for the film.
