Of the many tragedies that form the narrative of India today, few are as heartrending as that of Kousetti Swapnika.
A 22-year enginering student from Warangal in the South Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, Swapnika was the unfortunate victim of some demented youths who hurled acid at her.
After suffering serious injuries to her face, neck, chest and back, Swapnika died a few hours ago in a Secunderabad hospital after a painful 21-day battle.
Indian media reports suggest that the local police were unresponsive to complaints from Swapnika’s family before the attack but after the incident and the ensuing public outrage went into overdrive and murdered the girl’s alleged attackers Srinivas, Sanjay and Harikrishna in what is euphemistically described as an encounter.
Swapinika’s friend Pranitha, who was also injured in the incident, is said to be recovering.
What a tragedy!
How do they become so cruel??? We must teach our youngsters to love humanity first. Never should they be allowed to poison their minds with VENGENCE and KILLING for any reason.
I always teach my son (11 yrs) to forgive others of their mistakes and then he will get it in return when he does the same. If we can’t do a simple thing as that, we deem fit to be humans ourselves.
Kollywood thrives on vengence by heroes in their stories. The heroism is built on that. They create an an enemy for that purpose.

There is very little toleration of rejection or alternate viewpoints in that country.
India, the world’s biggest democracy! Pffft.

Have you ever been there? One of the weirdest countries…almost impossible to make sense of the nation.
Ah, India is the number one in the world in crime / discrimination against women.
Forget the cruel incident of warangal, in day to day life an average girl has to live with great pain, once she goes outside a bunch of filthy road side romeos are waiting to tease. In buses or trains they are waiting for molesting the girls, and these girls cannot do anything about it than crying, because the so called police force in india is just a system of streaming revenue of criminals to their political masters. The ruling party decides on the minimum crime money a district should raise in a month and thus the district officers set target for local police stations. Beleive it or not in some police station they are having prepaid crime packages, you can go to a police station and pay x amount so that you can carry out a crime in their jurisdiction. All the action taken by police is only on those criminal who havent paid for their crimes. I am writing this after witnessing some of them myself.
The system of Police force in India is just kept as it was created by the British, a force to control people which is totally controlled by the rulers. Because all the British needed was muscle against people. We need a reform in police force, it has to be made independent and more powerful.
Another disgusting thing is the law department in India. I will give you an example why law in india is still africa, there was a Dalit girl raped in Rajasthan, the judgment reads like this ‘It is impossible for a higher caste man to even think of raping a Dalit girl, as they are treated as untouchables by higher caste people, and hence the court dismisses the case and dismisses the request for medical examinations as well’. (This girl was a social worker, campaigning against child marriages in Rajasthan)
This DID happen in a district magistrate in rajasthan, and you know what you cannot protest / argue about it because in India if we strongly condemn court of law, it would put you in jail. Again, the law system is very much in line with the way British had it, for the rulers and against the people, as simple as that.
The British understood the social inequalities in India and used it to divide people and rule them easily.
They created law and enforcement system just to keep those evil force alive and keep the slaves busy fighting among themeselves so that they never can think about fighting against the rulers. The same formula is being followed after the freedom by the creamy politicians decades after decades.
As you rightly mentioned it’s the weirdest country on earth.
Why is searchindia.com so eager to diss India so fast in the comments above.
This is what you said about India in your “About US” section:
Although our ship sailed out of India many years ago, our heart still yearns for the ole country.
Now you jump at calling it one of the weirdest countries… and asking some loser if he had ever been there. Looks like you are a sham! You are so eager to comment and so desperate to reply to two losers that don’t have much intelligence but to generalize and stereotype a country/region. You are the one that is really weird… never came across any blog where the person writes the article and then gets ready to give opinions based on the article even before other people had a chance to discuss it.
Well, only two losers came and commented on your article. And many other articles did not even get any comments. So good job! You are doing a good job!!!

1. Yo schmuck, just because our heart yearns for the ole country doesn’t mean that we turn a nelson’s eye to its ills.
2. You write: Now you jump at calling it one of the weirdest countries…
Only a know-nothing ignoramus like you would jump like the wasps stung your cojones when we say India is one of the weirdest countries.
Anyone who’s the least bit familiar with India would agree with us that India is one of the weirdest countries on the planet.
3. Who the f*** gave you the right to call our readers losers. WTF do you know about them. For all you or us know, they could be Einsteins or even Bill Gates writing under a nom de guerre. 😉
Dickhead, get back to your rat-hole NOW. And that’s an order.
