Critics Hammer Trashy Singh is Kinng

Movie critics have ripped apart Bollywood superstar wannabe Akshay Kumar’s latest trashy movie Singh is Kinng.

A disgrace of a movie, Singh is Kinng has the odious distinction of not having a single reedeming element in the entire 2hrs 10min of its screen time.

Here’s what some of the movie critics have to say about this ugly piece of crap a.k.a. Singh is Kinng:

Shilpa Jamkhandikar, Reuters India:

“Singh is Kinng”, which stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, epitomises the much used phrase for most Bollywood films – leave your brains behind. The director, writers and the actors in this film certainly did.

Meetu, Withoutgivingthemovieaway:

The opening disclaimers included lines to the effect that, “The hen in the hen chase scene is digitally crafted, no cruelty has been imposed on animals for the shoot of that scene.” Uhh…what about the cruelty inflicted upon us the humans who watched this tripe in the name of ‘mass entertainment’?

SearchIndia.com:

Never in the annals of human depravity has so much agony been inflicted on so many (500 million Bollywood fans) by so few (Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Anees Bazmee et al).

Like Attila the Hun, the mad doctor of Auschwitz Josef Mengele and Ivan the Terrible, Akshay Kumar and his fellow bozos in Singh is Kinng have unleashed a horror show that has few parallels except with the awfully sordid.

By no stretch of imagination, can Akshay Kumar’s Singh is Kinng be even considered a movie.

Au contraire, it’s a nightmare of horrific proportions.

Rajeev Masand, CNN-IBN:

Singh Is Kinng is a film that has little or no regard for its audience. It’s the kind of movie whose makers couldn’t care less if you hated the film, fell asleep during the film, left the film in twenty minutes, or collapsed from a stroke midway through the film. They only care about the fact that you paid your two hundred bucks and bought your ticket. To hell with you after that.

Khalid Mohamed, Hindustan Times:

Frankly, you’re not even looking for logic-‘n’-sense because for such good old virtues of entertainment are equated with ‘intellectualism’(will some nerd even explain what it means?). Sigh, you’re just looking for ‘time-pass’ but this isn’t worth your car fuel or cola-corn double whammy. It’s just bilge.

Contemptuous of audience taste, the screenplay is heavily cadged from Frank Capra’s Pocketful of Miracles (already done by Raj Khosla as Teri Maang Sitaron Se Bhar Doon and to a degree, sampled in Lage Raho Munnabhai). There’s also quite a lot of Jackie Chan’s Mr Canton and Lady Rose here. Viva DVD guys.

Singh is Kinng is a worthless piece of trash that is so pathetic even by Bollywood’s contemptible standards.

Sure, some of the above critics have a nice thing or two to say about Singh is Kinng.

But the reviews overall leave you feeling that this latest Akshay Kumar horror show is plain garbage.

Singh is Kinng is not worthy of your time or money.

Why don’t you post good reviews of a movie,it seems like you delibrately like to criticise an indian movie?

You write above: Why don’t you post good reviews of a movie,it seems like you delibrately like to criticise an indian movie?

What you say is not true. SearchIndia.com is an objective source of reviews for readers. We say it like it is.

We are not the only ones disappointed with Singh is Kinng.

Please see above Critics Hammer Singh is Kinng. Khalid Mohamed (Hindustan Times), Reuters India, Meetu and Rajiv Masand (CNN-IBN) are some others who are unimpressed with this junk.

Singh is Kinng is a piece of trash with not a single redeeming feature.

Recently, you posted a comment about Tamil Movie Kuselan (Rajinikanth) doing well in UK. Now it appears according to media reports from CNN-IBN and another one here that the movie is not doing well at all.

    SearchIndia.com Responds:

Barring Rang De Basanti, Lage Raho Munnabhai & to some extent Chak De India, we don’t believe the other movies resonated very well with the audiences either (not blockbusters).

In any case, we can’t go by what some other web site or reviewer writes.
